Cycling Armenia was set up in 2012 to provide detailed and accurate information on all aspects of cycling in Armenia. Routes and resources come from the first-hand biking experience and knowledge of experienced cyclists in Armenia, and are updated regularly.

Cycling Armenia is run by Tom Allen, a British adventure cyclist who has spent more than two years living and in Armenia and exploring the South Caucasus by bicycle. He also runs the popular adventure cycling website Tom’s Bike Trip.

    Hi Tom,

Reading your page and looking at the pictures just starts us drooling and dreaming about our next trip 😉
We are thinking about making a cycling trip of roughly 3 to 4 weeks through Armenia and maybe Nagorno Karabach next July/August.
We are a family of four, cycling with our son (14) and daughter (12) on two sturdy tandems and always looking for new horizons. We are not afraid of bad roads and hills/mountains 🙂
We have been reading up on routes and other stuff, but at the moment are wondering whether the climbs won’t be to heavy (some say yes, some say no, some say the views and people are worth it 😉 ), wether cycling the smaller or back roads or going ‘off the beaten track’ is doable, wether Nagorno Karabach is safe, …
Any advice, also on where to go, which roads to thake/avoid, what to see, … will be verry welcomed ☺
